Performance Friction introduces a two piece floating rotor to work with your stock calipers and braking system!
Higher precision and tolerances give you a rotor that will reduce drag, eliminate pulsation and vibration, and reduce heat transfer. And, wear is increased as well! Two pounds per rotor lighter with a dimpled finish that performs similar to slotted discs but without the wear.
We ONLY suggest Performance Friction pads to work in conjunction with Direct Drive rotors*.
Includes fully assembled hat, directional rotor, and Direct Drive™ mounting hardware. Prices are per SINGLE rotor. Replacement discs also available.
* Some aftermarket and OEM brake pad manufacturers have a taller profile than Performance Friction pads. We have noticed these types of taller profile pads becoming too close to the bottom of the friction area of the disc and can create a stress riser causing premature fatigue of the disc. When cold, there must be 2mm of space between the bottom of the pad and the bottom of the friction disc where the fingers meat the friction area. As the rotor gets hot and expands this space will diminish. To reduce the chance of this issue arising, we suggest only using Performance Friction pads with Direct Drive rotors.
NOTES:
- E46 M3 rear Direct Drive rotors require a Performance Friction 7855 pad for mounting bolt clearance
. This shape can be found in our PFC pad listings in street, street/track, and 100% track compounds.
- A very small percentage of E36 M3 cars are affected by on off-sized front hub assembly (143mm OD versus 139mm), presumably supplied by one of BMWs suppliers with a different spec. PFC DD rotors will require replacement of this hub with the standard sized part. SKF Bearings are correct at 139mm.
